LIRK NOR would like to invite you to participate to the webinar titled EU Microplastics Restriction deadline: Did Your Reporting Obligation Apply? that will take place on the 16th of June, 11.00-12.00 CEST.
On 31 May 2026, the first annual reporting deadline under the EU microplastics restriction (REACH Annex XVII, Entry 78) applied to certain manufacturers and industrial downstream users handling synthetic polymer microparticles (SPM) in pellet, flake, or powder form. They were required to report 2025 emission estimates to ECHA via IUCLID and REACH-IT.
Many companies are still unsure whether the obligation applied to them at all, and the exclusion criteria around solubility, degradability, and naturally occurring polymers are easy to misread. This free 45-minute briefing helps you verify your position, whether you filed, didn't file, or weren't certain you had to.
What you'll learn:
‣ What Entry 78 actually restricts, and what qualifies as an SPM, including the four exclusion criteria for natural polymers, degradable polymers, highly soluble polymers, and polymers without carbon atoms
‣ The difference between a ban, a derogated use, and a reporting obligation
‣ Exactly who had to report by 31 May 2026, and who has until 31 May 2027
‣ What the report requires, and how it is filed via REACH-IT and IUCLID
‣ The most common classification errors companies make, and what to do now if you think you missed the deadline
Who should attend: regulatory affairs, EHS, product stewardship, and compliance professionals at companies that manufacture, import, or use polymer powders, granules, masterbatch, coatings, or additives.
Every attendee receives free material to aid scoping and understanding key steps.
LIRK NOR is available at every stage to support your compliance team's efforts.
The webinar will be recorded and a streaming link will be available upon request.
